Re: Lucas sells to Disney

I'm having fun reading and watching the many spoiler filled negative reviews of The Last Jedi. Overall I'm fine with the desecration of the original and classic films but this modern Star Wars is definitely hellbent on throwing the past under the bus, guess Disney have their own reasons. Re: Plan Red: America's Planned War on the British Empire

Lately I like to watch formerly restricted WW2 military training videos such as this one:

In an ocean of humanism, there throwback vids propagate the vibe of a more civilized era. *Obiwan voice*

Re: Identify the Image

There are plenty of ways to feel bad, like being blindsided by your entire team at work or having your progress sabotaged by your girlfriend in an mmo, but i think the worst is when the badness comes from within.

Re: Identify the Image

I see britain, france and mexico after 5 seconds, and i assess that there are many more imbricated within the overlays. "All the flags of the world combined?" On taking a second look it has now dawned on me. Its not britain france and mexico. It's an overlap of all the commonwealth flags m...

Re: US-Canada partisan divisions: How would it go?

I like it, and the best place to start would be all the states whose #1 trading partner is Canada! https://beta.theglobeandmail.com/ece-images/b71/incoming/article33686622.ece/binary/PASTEUP_0120-rb-co-graphic-MAP1_cjc.png https://beta.theglobeandmail.com/ece-images/f50/incoming/article33686702.ece/...

Re: US-Canada partisan divisions: How would it go?

Could Washington be bypassed or rather, sidelined, put before a fait accompli by states if they moved to force a constitutional amendment that lets canada join without relying on congress to get the ball rolling? Partisan politics is all a show like wrestling, and a lot of humanists swear by the fee...

If I could volunteer a single piece of advice it would be taking a serious look at eating habits as part of a preventive approach to restoring and maintaining health going forward, for optimal longevity quantitatively and qualitatively, accomplished by watching at least 10 hours of Doctor McDougall ...

Re: Technology of the Day

At my after high school graduation party way back when, I remember cooking bacon on a camping stove like this as we were all out on a camping island. The highlight of that memory is a girl seeing me do this being overtaken with nausea and running away to throw up in a nearby bush. Little did I know,...

Re: Strange Map of the Day

The economic linkages are pretty strong between Toronto and Montreal, I'd like to see a comparison of Toronto's activities relative to Chicago and Montreal to see if that factor really comes to bear in the direction they chose to adopt. But it's pretty arcane data to search for so I'm not going to h...
