In the same context, Canada was instrumental in the drafting of the Inter-American Democratic Charter, which was signed by all OAS member states on Sept. 11, 2001. The Charter makes the practice of democracy an explicit condition of OAS membership and outlines the parameters for the creation of a democratic republic.

Bolded part is just of interest and obviously tons of things go on every day in the world. A good example of that is how National Peacekeepers Day gets drowned out by other historical events when you query 9 August 1974 in a search engine.

Of course peacekeeping thankfully no longer has that plain vanilla sex appeal but I digress.

Well, at least National Peacekeepers' Day gets observed on a yearly basis. Can't say the same for "Nixon Gets Ridden Out Of Town On A Rail Day".
