Yeah and I regret it, OK? Its not like I had any fucking idea when I was 17.

What makes you say I support our education system?

I didn't owe that much in comparison to most. I didn't get a stellar education. But i never made much money and was unemployed for a bit.

Having the paper probably did help but nothing I actually learned couldn't have been learned, or relearned anyway, in a normal working environment.

We're long sundered from the Catholic guild/mentoring system that long ensured wealth creating self-sustaining capitalism throughout the civilized world..

Or just give free education, or have a system where the employer pays off the student loans of its workers.

Well a couple years free would be helpful.

Why not have an educated society?

Why are you asking me?

Ask your humanist overlords, maybe they'll grace you with an answer. Unless you want me to give you their answer?

So you're saying having the free option for higher education is oppressive somehow?

No I'm saying that neatly half of higher education is a scam and a fraud, perfectly meant to sucker people into general failness, dragging down their entire nation with them. It's happening as we speak. before our very eyes, and you're a walking talking example of that wasted potential.

You're the humanist zealot trying to externalize your demons on me by constantly wasting your words trying to put stupid statements into my mouth that actually drooled out from yours. One day you'll grow tired of this ridiculous obsession and maybe you'll be able to have interesting discussions instead.

 That actually made me laugh out loud.

First of all, I am not wasted potential. I'm just not bitter than my limited education didn't work as well for me as it has for others.

Secondly, heres what I think:

On your 18th birthday you get a big fat check worth the average price of a home in Canada. You can do what you want with it. Invest in your education. Start a business. Take a monthly allowance. Buy a home. Or splurge it on drugs and living life in the fast lane.

But this will never happen. So I'll support the little changes that put less financial burden on students to get an education.

The only thing you are is something you're not?

-----

I would like you to be able to have a province where you'd be free to convince people to implement your schemes, so that we can compare the success and merit of multiple approaches. Personally, my solution is way more radical than yours.

I think Iceland is the best place to try it, because it is a small contained environment, that has already gone bankrupt and given the middle finger to the banksters.. I may end up moving there within 2 years, who knows!
