I wonder why Australia and others aren't showing up though, I think it may have not been part of the list. Here's the full report which is very interesting in the other aspects it surveyed as well:

I think what would be more useful, would be to...
ask Americans:
-Please list the 10 things you dislike the most about Canada

And ask Canadians:
-Please list the 10 things you dislike the most about America

And see which items appear the most on both lists. My bet would be that US debt policies, and healthcare would be on the top of the list (amongst sports teams and region-specific cuisine).

Canada is my favorite too, my only beef against it would have been the gun laws but its definitely moving in the right direction with Harper abolishing the long gun registry.

What would be your top 10 favored countries as Americans? Ranked in the order of preference of course.

hmmmm... I have never really thought about it in terms ranking them, but what the hell, here is my knee-jerk reaction to the question:

1. USA (of course)
2. Canada
3. Japan
4. United Kingdom
5. Germany
6. Ireland
7. Israel
.......and I am drawing a blank................ we'll just say:
8. Czech Republic (I have ancestors from there.)
9. Australia (they speak English, lol.)
10. South Korea (I took Korean Martial Arts as a teen and most of my early 20s)

(Also, I have only actually visited 5 of the 10, thought visiting 3 of the other 5 is on my bucket-list.)

Excluding the US and its territories, I would say:

1. Japan
2. Canada
3. United Kingdom
4. Germany
6. Sweden
6. Australia
7. New Zealand
8. Parts of Mexico
9. Parts of Brazil
10. France

Some of these countries I have visited, some are just from research and how I personally feel about them. I would like to turn this around ask the canadians here what their favorite countries are (you may or may not exclude Canada from the list, up to you).

Let's exclude the US, of course. (Also, I've never left the US, so keep that in mind.)
1. Canada
2. Australia
3. Liechtenstein (I like the idea of small countries, and it doesn't hurt when they're as liberty respecting as Liechtenstein)
4. France (I'd like it even more if they were to nix the socialism, or tone it down a whole lot)
5. Singapore
6. UK and territories
7. Monaco
8. Finland
9. India
10. Switzerland
And, for fun:
11. Principality of Hutt River
